We have answered the questions that we are often asked below, to help you choose Walk Me Feed Me to look after your pet. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us.

How much do you charge?

How many dogs are walked at any one time?    

Walk Me Feed Me believes dogs have more fun if they can play and interact with other dogs. Our groups are kept small with groups of up to a maximum 4 dogs per person. Group are carefully selected with breed, age, sex, and personality in mind, and can be discussed with the owner beforehand.

Will I meet my dog walker?        

Yes. We offer a free face-to-face initial consultation to understand your dog’s personality and needs. This will also give you the chance to get to know us in person and ask any questions you might have and find out how things work.

Do you arrange picking up and dropping off the dogs?  

We collect your dog from your home/place of work at an agreed time set by you and then return them after their walk.

Are you insured?            

Yes. Walk Me Feed Me is fully insured, this includes key cover. Feel free to ask to see a copy of our insurance certificate.

Do I need to be home when you collect or drop off my dog?      

No. Most clients are comfortable sharing a set of keys with Walk Me Feed Me to enable us to collect and drop off your dog even if you are not home. We are insured for lost keys.

Do you do off-hours walking?   

Yes, but please contact us to discuss.

What do I do if I need to cancel?             

Please contact us by email or telephone giving at least 24 hours notice to avoid charges. Cancellation in less than 24 hours will incur the full-service charge.

What do you do in case of an emergency?          

In the unlikely event of an emergency, we will immediately call and notify you.

When we take your pet on, we ensure that we have all the family emergency and veterinary contact details. If veterinary assistance is needed, we will take your dog to your named vet or, depending on the circumstances, to the nearest possible one.

Will my dog be supervised at all times?

Yes. Your dog will be under constant supervision by one of Walk Me Feed Me experienced dog walkers and will not be left unattended.

Where do you walk?     

We will cater to your dog’s needs and current walking locations including, but not limited to: Broadacre Woodland, Cassiobury Park, Garston Park, Harrocks Wood, Heartwood Forest, Knutsford Playing Fields, Leavesden Country Park, Merry Hill, Munden Estate, Tanners Wood, and Whippendell Wood.

All of these walks are safe and away from traffic. If you feel you dog would be better suited to a walk elsewhere, then we will try to accommodate this.

My dog has not been spayed or neutered, can he/she still be walked?  

This can be discussed in the initial consultation. Each dog will be considered separately, but we reserve the right to refuse any dog.

What if my dog is not vaccinated?          

We reserve the right to refuse services if the Client fails to provide adequate proof of vaccinations (including Bordetella), or the vaccinations are found to be expired or otherwise incomplete.

Must my dog be microchipped?

We reserve the right to refuse services if the Client fails to provide adequate proof that their dog(s) have been microchipped.

Do you take bitches in season? 

No. It is Walk Me Feed Me policy to never take a bitch which is in season.

What security measures do you have?  

Your key will be kept secure and away from personal information. No key can be traced to any property. In the event of your key being lost or stolen we will advise you immediately.

Your personal information will never be sold or discussed with any third parties in accordance with the Data Protection Act and GDPR.

We are insured so that we can offer you peace of mind.

What happens if my dog doesn’t get on with another dog?        

We carefully select which dogs will walk together, if we find an imbalance within the group we will switch accordingly and inform you of our decision. We want all our dogs to enjoy their walk.

Do you offer your services on the weekends and bank holidays? 

Yes, for regular clients. However, an alternative price structure applies. Please contact us for details.

How do you transport the dogs to the walk location?    

We have a fully insured van, which has a dog guard and cages fitted. This ensures that the journey to the walk as safe as possible.

I only require occasional walks for my dog, not every week or every day, can you help?

Yes. We are happy to provide services as and when you require, provided that we have diary availability.  We recommend that you give as much notice as possible.

My dog can be aggressive with other dogs or people and he must wear a muzzle, can you still walk him?          

We offer one-to-one walks in the morning and later in the afternoons as an alternative to group walks, if that is better for your dog or what you particularly want.

Do you have a veterinarian background?            

No, we do not. However, having worked with a great many dogs we understand their different needs. We also have a great relationship with our local vet. We have also completed a canine first aid course and always carry a first aid kit.

Would you stay overnight at a customer’s home to care for dogs?          

Yes, please call to discuss.

We just got a puppy and we both work, what services do you provide for a puppy?       

Puppies usually should go out every 2-3 hours. For example, if you are gone for 8 hours, we will come over twice during the day and let the puppy out, feed and cuddle the puppy.

Having a dog walker for a puppy makes training much easier, we will work with your puppy to heel, sit, stay, etc. We will also be able to introduce them to other dogs, once they have received their vaccinations.

Can dogs stay with you?             

We do not have the facilities yet to accommodate dogs.

What happens in bad weather?

We will walk your dog in bad weather We will clean and dry your dog off as much as possible. We do ask that you leave out a towel, and if possible, access to hose and water supply.

Do you walk dogs off the lead? 

We will only let your dog off lead once we have written consent from you, and we consider it is safe to do so.

If your dog is a little bit rusty on their recall, then we can keep them on a long lead. and let them run and play in safety.

Can you administer my pet’s medication?           

Walk Me Feed Me are happy to administer medication for your pet(s), in accordance with your written instructions.

Do your services cater for all dog breeds?           

We take each dog on its own merit and not on reputation of particular breeds. We meet all dogs before we walk them, and each new dog is subject to a trial period.

Any instances of aggressive behaviour will be investigated, and we reserve the right to refuse to walk any dog.

When are you available to walk my dog?            

We walk all day, Monday to Friday. Weekend bookings are available for regular clients.
